A philanthropic student group from the University of Saint Francis called Formula for Life will be hosting the third annual SCHOLARSHIP 5K walk/run on Sunday, March 5th at 2:00 starting at the Fort Recovery High School commons to help raise money for the construction of an orphanage in Haiti. The orphanage, which was founded and continues to be operated by a Catholic priest, Father Andre Sylvestre, will provide a home for over 100 children who have lost both parents to disease or natural disaster.
ANY high school senior or full-time college student is eligible to win a $1,000 or two $500 scholarships. All they have to do is participate in the 5K and their name will be placed into a drawing to win the scholarship. For every person they recruit to run, they will get another ticket placed in the drawing. The more tickets they have, the better their chance to win!
